Prof. Shyh-Huei Hwang, Ph.D
The speaker is a full-time Professor and currently serves as Vice President of National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, Taiwan. He received his Doctor of Science in Natural Sciences with a major in Design Science from Chiba University, Japan, in 1997, following a Master of Arts in Art with a specialization in Production Design from the University of Tsukuba in 1988, and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design from National Cheng Kung University in 1982.
He has held numerous senior academic and administrative leadership positions, including Vice President, Dean of International Affairs, Dean of the College of Design, Director of the University Library, and Director of the Center for Sustainable Development and Social Practice. Since 2013, he has been a Professor at the Graduate Institute of Design, National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, with a long-standing academic career at the institution beginning in 1997.
His professional and research expertise covers design culture, product design, cultural and creative industries, craft research, community building, local cultural center studies, and exhibition design. His work consistently integrates design practice, cultural sustainability, and social innovation within both academic and applied contexts.
